On Friday, February 13, McQuaid Jesuit School captured the NYSPHSAA Section V Class B Boys Swimming and Diving Championships team title at Webster Aquatic Center, finishing with 381 points to secure the Section V brick.

McQuaid set the tone early in the meet. The 200 Medley Relay team of
Ian Miller, '27,
Thomas Steele, '27,
Ben Hinds, '26 and
Nate Stubbe, '29 opened with a first place finish in just 1:40.12. From there, the Knights continued to stack points in every event.

Individually, senior
Luke McCormack, '26 was dominant, winning the 200 Freestyle in 1:44.72 and later claiming first in the 100 Freestyle with a 47.40.
Xavier Joseph, '26 left a wake as he sprinted to victory in the 50 Freestyle in 21.53 before a runner up finish in the 100 Freestyle.

Ben Hinds delivered a strong all-around performance, winning the 200 IM in 1:55.81 and capturing the 100 Breaststroke title in 58.13.
Ian Miller added two more individual wins, touching first in the 100 Butterfly in 50.82 and the 100 Backstroke in 50.49.

The Knights' depth made the difference as
Thomas Steele placed second in the 200 IM and second in the 500 Freestyle. Freshmen
Declan Sheehan and
Michael Socha added valuable team points in the 500 Freestyle, while
Nate Stubbe scored in both the 100 Butterfly and 100 Backstroke.

In the 500 Freestyle consolation heat, an up and coming seventh grader,
Logan Maas won his heat and finished 9th overall in 5:55.09, providing another key boost in the team standings.

McQuaid also closed the championship meet by making a splash in the 200 Freestyle Relay. The all-star team of Joseph, McCormack, Stubbe, and Hinds won in 1:29.33, and then sealed the deal with a 3:17.04 first place finish in the 400 Freestyle.

With individual champions, relay victories, and strong depth across events, the Knights swam to a complete team performance and brought the Section V Class B championship trophy back to McQuaid.
