With less than one month until the Section V Championships, McQuaid's Indoor Track & Field squad is tuning up for the final few competitions. This past weekend the Knights competed in three different meets, facing the top athletes from across New York State as well as Ohio.

At Saturday's (1/17) Jack Reed Showcase, Austin Vanegas, '26 raced a personal best time of 1:33 in the 600m before stepping back on the track just an hour later to lead the 4x800m Relay. 

While a majority of the Black & Gold competed at Nazareth University, other top runners traveled to Cleveland racing in the first-ever high school meet hosted by John Carroll University.  Colby Coon, '27 earned a personal best and a 4th place finish overall, finishing the 1600m in 4:44. Fellow junior, Pierre Baraka took home 1st place in the triple jump, posting a mark of 42-10.5.

McQuaid's Track & Field program graduated many of their top scorers last year, but with new young stars rounding into form, the outlook for the rest of the season is bright!
