Junior Rhoan Kaulder II capped off a remarkable 2024–25 athletic year by rewriting the record books and earning a state championship title in track and field.
Kaulder's dominance began in the Indoor Track season, where he set a new McQuaid Jesuit school record in the 55-meter dash with an impressive time of 6.35 seconds, earning him First Team honors. He continued his indoor success with a 21.81 second 200m performance and a 6.92 second 60m dash, establishing himself as one of the fastest sprinters in New York State.
In the spring outdoor track season, Kaulder's achievements hit new levels. He captured the NYSPHSAA State Championship (Class A) in the 100-meter dash, clocking 10.60 seconds to tie the McQuaid school record. His versatility as an athlete was further demonstrated with personal bests of 21.87 seconds in the 200m, and 50.94 seconds in the 400m. Kaulder also excelled in field events, recording a school-record long jump of 23 feet, 9.5 inches (7.25m), which established him among New York's elite jumpers this spring.
Kaulder's relentless dedication to speed and strength training has propelled him into the state's top rankings in both sprints and jumps, setting the stage for an unprecedented junior year. Among his many distinctions, he was named the Democrat & Chronicle Athlete of the Year and the 585 Elite Athlete for Large School Outdoor Track.
